The Saudi Alzheimer’s Disease Association issued a press release announcing the launch of an awareness campaign this September, which coincides with World Alzheimer’s Month. The campaign aims to enhance health and social awareness regarding Alzheimer’s disease.
According to the release, more than 300 organizations and sectors across the Kingdom are participating in the campaign. This includes remote lectures held twice weekly on the association’s social media channels and workshops led by medical experts to educate the public on the scientific and social aspects of the disease. Art exhibits depicting the stages of Alzheimer’s will be displayed in shopping malls, hospitals, and hotels to help raise awareness about the disease, patient rights, and ways to support caregivers.
The campaign underscores the association’s initiatives for transformation and empowerment, with the health education and social rehabilitation departments actively involving stakeholders to educate the public about preventive measures,
the best methods for caregivers to diagnose the condition, and the most recent advancements in support services. These efforts include supplying medical equipment, medications, and financial aid for diagnosis and treatment not only in Riyadh but also in other areas, with the ultimate goal of enhancing the lives of those affected by Alzheimer’s.
