The Saudi Equestrian Federation has officially launched its 2024-2025 season, announcing a packed calendar featuring 67 local and international championships across five equestrian disciplines: show jumping, dressage, endurance, tent-pegging, and horseback shooting.
The season kicks off with the National Day Cup for Tent Pegging and Horseback Shooting, scheduled from September 21 to 23, in conjunction with Saudi Arabia’s National Day celebrations. The season will feature 16 international and 51 local events to support male and female equestrians at various levels.
Highlights of the season include the prestigious Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Endurance Cup in AlUla, recognized as the most valuable race of its kind globally, and the final qualifiers of the Longines World Show Jumping League (five-star category). These events are expected to draw global equestrian stars and further establish Saudi Arabia as a key player in the international equestrian scene.
The Saudi Show Jumping Championships, a major
event that has been very successful in previous seasons, will also return. The season will feature the Saudi Show Jumping League, with eight rounds and a final, and the Federation’s Amateur Championships, designed to support amateurs, beginners, and juniors in show jumping.
In addition to these, the calendar includes the Foundation Cup for Endurance, aligning with the Kingdom’s national celebrations. Ali Al-Sahli, head of the Technical Committee at the Saudi Equestrian Federation, emphasized the importance of these events, highlighting the opportunity for Saudi equestrians to gain experience and engage with international counterparts.
