The Saudi Games torch made a special appearance at the Crown Prince Camel Festival in Taif as part of a promotional tour for the Kingdom’s largest sporting event, now in its third edition.
It was also done to highlight the cultural significance of camels in Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee Vice President and Saudi Camel Racing Federation President Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Musaed bin Abdulaziz attended the event. He emphasized the interest in and support the Saudi leadership gives the sports sector, and the Kingdom’s commitment to achieving the goals of Vision 2030 through the Saudi Games.
The torch was carried by renowned Saudi skier Sharifa Al-Sudairi and was then passed to Prince Fahd and to SportAccord President Ivo Ferriani. Finally, it was handed to camel rider Naif Al-Faidi, a gold medalist in the 2022 Saudi Games.
