Saudi Permanent Representative to OIC Receives Executive Director of Islamic Solidarity Fund

The Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr. Saleh Al-Suhaibani, has received here the Executive Director of the Islamic Solidarity Fund (ISF), Mohammed Suleiman Aba Al-Khail.

During the meeting, Al-Suhaibani congratulated Aba Al-Khail for his appointment as executive director of ISF, which is considered among the most important institutions that support humanitarian and development works within the OIC and represents the relief arm of the organization to implement various development projects and programs. He also commended the efforts that the ISF provided to needy countries in light of crises in some OIC member states and praised the fund’s excellence in sustainable investment endowment and its endeavours in offering assistance to beneficiaries.

The two sides referred to the fund’s most important projects and emergency donations, ISF’s role in the sectors of universities, women and children, the establishment of schools, mosques and hospitals, and the care of Muslim youth.

They also reviewed the fund’s assistance to various countries around the world, where the ISF, since its inception, has supported 127 countries with some $250 million, while emergency assistance to African, Arab, Asian and Western countries has so far amounted to $56,537,052, the fund also supported 145 universities and colleges around the world with over $90 million.

The ISF is based in Jeddah, and the permanent representative of the Kingdom to the OIC is the deputy chairman of the fund.
