SEC Approves Organisational Structure for Sharjah Digital Department

Abu dhabi: H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC), chaired the SEC meeting on Tuesday morning at the Ruler's Office. The meeting was attended by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council, and H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council.

According to Emirates News Agency, the Council approved the draft general organisational structure for the Sharjah Digital Department, following the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. This decision aligns with the Sharjah government's commitment to advancing the work system in line with best practices, enhancing the emirate's digital infrastructure, improving the integration of government services, and increasing their efficiency. The Council instructed its General Secretariat to submit the draft organisational structure to the Ruler of Sharjah.

Furthermore, the Council reviewed a report from the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority for 2025. The report highlighted a 22% increase in visitors, with more than 2 million individuals staying at 102 hotels across the emirate, generating total revenues of AED780 million. It also outlined the annual growth rate in regional visitor numbers.

The report detailed the authority's internal promotion efforts, including tours for delegations from tourism companies, media representatives, and guests visiting Sharjah. It also covered external promotional activities such as participation in international exhibitions and festivals. Additionally, the report mentioned events like the Sharjah Light Festival and the Sharjah International Tourism and Travel Forum, along with various tourism services, training and awareness programs, community outreach efforts, and digital transformation projects.
