Sharjah: The Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) is implementing a comprehensive series of projects valued at over AED7.1 million to expand and enhance the natural gas network across multiple areas of Sharjah City. These initiatives are part of SEWA's strategic efforts to upgrade infrastructure, respond to increasing demand, and deliver high-quality services while adhering to international safety standards.

According to Emirates News Agency, Ibrahim Al Balghouni, Director of the Natural Gas Department at SEWA, highlighted that the current projects include the Al Hamah Gas Transmission Line Project. This project, with an investment of AED3.3 million, stretches over 9,343 meters and is 90% complete. It is anticipated to reach completion by September 2026.

Furthermore, SEWA is advancing the natural gas network in Al Muwardah 6, with a budget of AED843,244 covering a 10-kilometre area. This project is currently 20% complete and is projected to be finished by the end of March 2027. In the Al Badea District, SEWA is developing an 8.9-kilometre network costing AED1.16 million, which is 25% complete and targeted for completion by the end of March 2027.

Additionally, the Al Qutaina 3 Gas Network Development Project is set to commence, with a valuation of AED1.80 million and spanning 18.4 kilometres. Coordination is ongoing with relevant authorities to secure the necessary no-objection certificates, with an anticipated completion by July 2027.

Al Balghouni emphasized that SEWA employs advanced technologies and best practices for network installation and maintenance, upholds the highest health and safety standards, and ensures timely project delivery. He noted that these projects underline SEWA's commitment to expanding natural gas services across Sharjah, aligning with its vision to achieve sustainability and provide innovative services that enhance the quality of life.
