Sharjah and Guinea to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation in Civil Aviation and Cultural Exchange.


Sharjah: Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Government Relations (DGR) in Sharjah, has engaged in a high-level meeting with Sekou Cherifke Camara, Ambassador of the Republic of Guinea to the UAE, to discuss the enhancement of bilateral cooperation in crucial sectors such as civil aviation, cultural, and academic exchange. The meeting took place at the House of Wisdom, with Sheikh Majid Al Qasimi, Director of DGR, in attendance.

According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting emphasized the importance of reinforcing ties between Sharjah and West African nations, with a focus on strategic partnerships to support sustainable development in African countries. Discussions also considered collaborations with the Alliance Française in Sharjah to support Guinean students.

Plans were discussed to present books authored by H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, to cultural and educational institutions in Guinea. Opportunities for collaboration with Al Qasimia University wer
e also deliberated, aimed at increasing the number of Guinean students. The DGR expressed its readiness to organize a visit to Guinea focused on developmental, economic, cultural, and academic sectors.

Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi highlighted Sharjah’s commitment to attracting Guinean businesses, emphasizing the potential for stronger economic relations. He noted the significant growth in Sharjah’s aviation sector, which facilitates trade and investment cooperation with Guinea and other West African nations.

Furthermore, Sheikh Fahim outlined an initiative to enhance cultural and academic exchanges between the Alliance Française and Guinea and explored the possibility of establishing Guinean cultural centers in Sharjah, leveraging Guinea’s French language presence.

Sekou Cherifke Camara expressed gratitude to H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi for supporting Guinean students at Al Qasimia University, which plays a crucial role in fostering cultural dialogue. He noted the current enrollment of 39 Guine
an students as a bridge for cultural and academic communication.

The Ambassador also highlighted Guinea’s natural resources and economic opportunities, which present promising avenues for trade and investment with Sharjah. He commended previous meetings with the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which generated ideas to enhance economic relations. He emphasized the significance of DGR’s upcoming visit to Guinea in strengthening relations and expanding cooperation opportunities across various sectors.
