Sharjah Judicial Council Approves AI Governance Guide and New Court

Sharjah:H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Judicial Council, chaired the Judicial Council's meeting at the Sharjah Judicial Department.

According to Emirates News Agency, the council approved the Governance Guide for the Management and Use of Artificial Intelligence Technologies in the Judicial System. This guide establishes a framework for the secure deployment of AI technologies, supporting advancements in judicial and administrative work. It includes regulations for AI system lifecycles, standards for use in judicial contexts, and measures to protect rights and improve service quality.

The council also approved the establishment of a specialised Public Prosecution and Court for Municipal and Environmental Affairs. This initiative aims to enhance the efficiency of related cases and is part of efforts to develop Sharjah's judicial system, preparing it for future transformations and integrating technological advancements.

Additionally, the council approved new attire for judiciary members, reflecting the institutional identity and status of the judicial authority. This move is part of broader efforts to unify the institutional appearance and emphasize the professional character of judicial members.
