Sharjah Ruler Announces New Hotel Apartment Project in Kalba

Sharjah: His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has unveiled plans to construct hotel apartments opposite Al Souq Al Jubail in Kalba. These accommodations will feature family rooms, parking spaces, and driver rooms, catering to the needs of families visiting the area.

According to Emirates News Agency, Sheikh Dr. Sultan emphasized that Kalba, often referred to as the 'Pearl of the East,' is set for significant development, with the city's transformation expected to be completed within two to three years. This announcement was made during a phone interview on the "Direct Line" program of Sharjah Radio and Television, where he elaborated on the challenges faced by the owners of old houses near Souq Al Jubail. Issues stem from disagreements among property owners and the Town Planning and Survey Department, with differing views on land ownership and compensation hindering new development.

To address these challenges, authorities have proposed expanding the land by incorporating nearby vacant government plots, aiming to facilitate construction and bring property owners together in one area. Sheikh Dr. Sultan stressed the importance of maintaining open communication with the owners to ensure a satisfactory resolution.

The new hotel apartment project is set to offer tourists and their families more spacious and affordable lodging options, with amenities such as parking and driver rooms. Sheikh Dr. Sultan reassured property owners that participation in this project is voluntary, and land for public projects like schools and hospitals will be acquired fairly.

Furthermore, Sheikh Dr. Sultan highlighted ongoing efforts to update and revitalize Kalba while preserving its historical buildings. He expressed optimism that the city's development would be completed in the coming years, ensuring a dignified and pleasant life for its residents.

The Ruler also discussed the development of the Al Tarif area, emphasizing improvements in housing, sewage networks, and roads. He is closely monitoring these projects, urging officials to expedite their completion. Sheikh Dr. Sultan assured that Kalba would remain a secure and tranquil place for its residents.

Additionally, the Ruler noted the growing international interest in the University of Kalba, which is situated by the lake. Visitors have been impressed by its location and design, with delegates from China expressing interest in implementing its educational programs. A university delegation is set to visit China to assist in this initiative, signaling Kalba's rising prominence on the global stage.

Sheikh Dr. Sultan concluded by expressing his commitment to transforming Kalba into a true jewel that its citizens can be proud of, congratulating the people of Kalba on these advancements and wishing them continued success and prosperity.
