DUBAI: H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, attended the Dubai Sports Retreat at the Museum of the Future, aiming to shape the future of sports in Dubai from 2025 to 2033. The event was organized by the Dubai Sports Council and brought together decision-makers, industry experts, and sports personalities to discuss Dubai’s future in sports.
According to Emirates News Agency, Sheikh Hamdan, alongside H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, emphasized the role of sports in social development, economic growth, and job creation. He praised the initiative, stating that it reflects Dubai’s commitment to nurturing sports champions and fostering a culture of excellence on both local and global stages.
Sheikh Hamdan toured the retreat and engaged with participants from various backgrounds, commending their involvement in enhancing Dubai’s status as a global sports destination. He met with Dubai’s sports ambassadors, includi
ng Khabib Nurmagomedov, Patrice Evra, Fadi Al Khatib, Sania Mirza, Harbhajan Singh, Bacary Sagna, and Nashat Akram, appreciating their contribution to raising sports status in Dubai.
The retreat also featured attendance from Dr. Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Sports, and other top officials. It included a speech by Khalfan Juma Belhoul, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, emphasizing sports’ impact on communities and economies.
Participants engaged in dialogue sessions and working groups focused on themes like community sports, infrastructure, and talent development, making recommendations to align with Dubai’s development goals.
