SLEEM DISCUSSES BILATERAL RELATIONS WITH FRENCH SENATOR GARIO-MAILAM

Caretaker Minister of National Defense, Maurice Sleem, on Monday welcomed at his Yarze office, member of the French Senate and the Secretary of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defense and the Armed Forces, Joel Gario-Mailam. During the meeting, they discussed the existing historical relations between the two countries in various fields, especially the ongoing cooperation between the armies of the two countries. Senator Gario-Mailam expressed her confidence in “the ability of the Lebanese to overcome the crisis that weighs heavily on Lebanon,’ and affirmed France’s constant support for Lebanon in various fields, especially in the military domain. Minister Sleem, in turn, hailed the continuous French support for Lebanon and the initiatives aimed at finding solutions to the country’s current crises. The Minister also appreciated the “military cooperation between the two countries, France’s participation in UNIFIL, and its permanent coordination with the army in the areas of training and equipment.” Sleem highly valued France’s “permanent stand by Lebanon”.
