An earthquake measuring 6 magnitude on the Richter scale hit Monday the Fiji Islands in the Pacific Ocean.
According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake occurred south of Fiji at a depth of 553.4 km.
There have been no reports of casualties or material damage as a result of the earthquake.
Fiji is located above the Pacific Ring of Fire, making it exposed to many tremors and aftershocks that may be strong at times.
Last April, a 6.6-magnitude earthquake hit Fiji at a depth of 562 km.
