Sultan bin Ahmed Inaugurates Sharjah Children’s and Youth Shura Sessions

Sharjah: H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, inaugurated the 18th session of the Sharjah Children's Shura Council and the 9th session of the Sharjah Youth Shura Council at the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) headquarters under the slogan "Serving the Community is Leadership."

According to Emirates News Agency, H.H. the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah emphasized that these councils align with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and receive robust support from his wife, H.H. Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi. He expressed pride in inaugurating the sessions, highlighting the councils' role in fostering responsible participation among Sharjah's youth.

H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed underscored that the chosen slogan reflects the essential role of the councils in empowering children and youth to participate in community discussions and contribute ideas for national progress. He highlighted that council membership is both a responsibility and a learning opportunity, urging members to engage in dialogue, respect differing opinions, and present recommendations that resonate with their aspirations.

He further elaborated on the selection process for council members, noting the participation of nearly 20,000 voters from Sharjah, which signifies community trust and awareness of the councils' importance. The experience of the councils, according to H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed, has proven their positive impact through constructive initiatives and ideas.

The Deputy Ruler called on council members to advance with confidence, actively engage in discussions, and provide well-considered opinions that reflect their understanding of generational issues. He concluded with congratulations on the commencement of the session, expressing hopes for a fruitful parliamentary journey for the members.

The ceremony commenced with the UAE national anthem, followed by Quranic verses. Council members took an oath, pledging to work with integrity and responsibility. Speeches by Hamid Saeed Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Sharjah Children's Shura Council, and Hamad Mohammed Ibrahim, Chairman of the Sharjah Youth Shura Council, emphasized the councils' roles in fostering development and community service.

The event was attended by notable figures, including Sheikh Majid bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Head of Sharjah Districts Affairs Department; Sheikh Dr Khalid bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council; Sheikh Saud bin Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Director-General of the Sharjah Digital Department; Sheikha Jawaher bint Abdullah Al Qasimi, Director-General of the Rubu' Qarn Foundation for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators, among others.
