SWA: Over 3 Billion Liters of Fresh Water Pumped in Makkah and Holy Sites in 3 Days

Mina: The Saudi Water Authority (SWA) has said that more than 3 billion liters of fresh water were pumped in Makkah and the holy sites during the Tarwiah and Arafat days, as well as the first day of Eid Al-Adha.

This achievement is part of the SWA’s operational plan to ensure the comfort and well-being of pilgrims during the current Hajj season, 1445 AH. The SWA’s operational system successfully accomplished this feat through collaborative efforts, meticulous planning, and thorough preparations.

The Saline Water Conversion Corporation, serving as the SWA’s transitional operational arm, along with the production systems in the Saudi Water Partnership Company and its private sector partners, significantly increased water production capacity to record levels.

Furthermore, the Water Transmission and Technologies Company facilitated the supply of the produced water to the National Water Company, completing the integrated efforts of the system by distributing and pumping the announced quantities to Makkah and
the holy sites.
