Talabat UAE and K2 Partner to Launch Commercial Drone Delivery Service

Abu dhabi: talabat, the on-demand delivery platform in MENA, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with K2, an advanced technology company, to pilot a commercial drone delivery service for food and groceries. This strategic partnership aims to enhance delivery efficiency, reduce operational emissions, and streamline logistics in high-demand areas.

According to Emirates News Agency, the collaboration unites two market leaders who share a vision for improving service ecosystems and delivering long-term value. The partnership will develop and test a drone-to-station delivery model, focusing on innovation and sustainable growth. The pilot project will explore the practical applications of drone delivery in urban environments, aiming to support the UAE's vision for smarter, future-ready logistics.

Mayank Khaitan, Director of Logistics at talabat, emphasized that innovation is central to evolving the last-mile experience for customers and riders. He stated that the partnership with K2 is a significant step in exploring autonomous delivery capabilities that enhance operational efficiency. By integrating advanced technology with scalable delivery solutions, talabat aims to contribute to the UAE's vision for intelligent mobility.

Waleed AlBlooshi, Vice President of Strategy at K2, highlighted that the collaboration with talabat is pivotal for shaping Abu Dhabi's autonomous future. He remarked that integrating drone delivery into K2's smart-city ecosystem demonstrates that autonomy is now a tangible service that improves daily life. Together with talabat, K2 is working on building scalable, practical solutions to redefine last-mile delivery across the UAE.
