Time for political will, courage to end this brutal war: UNRWA Commissioner-General

GAZA: Dozens of Palestinians, including many children, were killed and others wounded in an Israeli airstrike targeting a United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) school in Jabalia, Gaza.

In a statement on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Philippe Lazzarini, UNRWA Commissioner-General, expressed his outrage, stating that this was the third attack on UNRWA facilities within a week. He emphasised that civilians in Gaza “continue to be trapped, hungry and sick often under heavy bombardment”, noting that the school was sheltering many children.

Lazzarini also highlighted that more members of the UNRWA team had been killed, bringing the total to 231 since the war began over a year ago.

He ended his statement by asserting that it is ‘time for political will and courage to end this brutal war”.
