Rio de janeiro: Six people were killed following a mid-air collision between two helicopters west of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, according to rescue authorities.

According to Emirates News Agency, Rio de Janeiro's Military Fire Department reported that one of the helicopters crashed on the parking lot of a car dealership, where several electric vehicles were parked. The crash ignited a fire that was subsequently extinguished by the responding teams.

Officials have stated that an investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the collision.
