‘UAE 7’ Balloon Set to Soar at 30th Austria International Balloon Festival

Vienna: The UAE Balloon team is gearing up to participate in the 30th Austria International Balloon Festival, scheduled from January 7th to 27th. The invitation for this event was extended by Captain Rudy Hoover, Chairman of the Organising Committee of the Festival.

According to Emirates News Agency, the festival is anticipated to attract significant European and international participation. Captain Pilot Abdulaziz Nasser Al-Mansouri, President of the UAE Balloon, confirmed that the team will showcase the 'UAE 7' balloon as part of its 2026 winter international tour. This tour includes events in Russia, Switzerland, and Italy.

Preparations are in full swing for the flights originating from the Tannheim Valley. This will be executed in collaboration with the Tannheim Tourist Association, beginning at an altitude of about 1,100 metres. The balloon is expected to ascend to heights between 2,500 and 2,900 metres. It will then drift with prevailing winds toward Bavaria, aiming to land near the renowned Neuschwanstein Castle in southern Germany, close to the Austrian border.
