UAE and Azerbaijan Presidents Discuss Expansion of Bilateral Cooperation

Abu dhabi: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Excellency Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, engaged in discussions today focusing on enhancing bilateral relations and expanding cooperation. The talks emphasized sectors such as economy, investment, food security, renewable energy, and environmental action, all of which are pivotal to sustainable development in both countries.

According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting took place during President Aliyev’s working visit to the UAE, where he was received by Sheikh Mohamed at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi. Sheikh Mohamed expressed optimism that the visit would foster further cooperation to benefit both nations and their citizens.

The leaders also exchanged perspectives on regional and international concerns, highlighting the importance of collaborative efforts to ensure peace, stability, and security at regional and global levels. Sheikh Mohamed emphasized that UAE-Azerbaijan relations are built on mutual respect and shared interests, with growing ties in areas that support joint development.

Sheikh Mohamed reiterated the shared vision of the UAE and Azerbaijan on dialogue and cultural exchange, underlining the UAE’s commitment to forming development-focused partnerships across the Caucasus, including Azerbaijan, to promote regional well-being. He also reaffirmed the UAE’s support for initiatives that reinforce peace and development, stressing that peace is essential for prosperity and progress.

President Aliyev expressed his gratitude to Sheikh Mohamed for his dedication to strengthening bilateral relations, which has been crucial in their recent growth, particularly in economic development. He highlighted the importance of joint projects in driving progress and prosperity in Azerbaijan.

The meeting was attended by several key UAE officials, including Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, and other senior figures. Members of President Aliyev’s delegation were also present.

Earlier, President Aliyev was welcomed in Abu Dhabi by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, along with other senior officials, marking the commencement of his working visit to the UAE.
