UAE and Hungary Explore Strengthening Parliamentary Relations

Budapest: Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), and L¡szl³ K¶v©r, Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary, engaged in discussions to enhance parliamentary relations and expand cooperation between the UAE and Hungary.

According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting took place at the National Assembly headquarters in Budapest during Saqr Ghobash’s official visit to Hungary, leading an FNC delegation. The discussions included mechanisms for activating parliamentary cooperation between the two councils, aligning with the growing relations between the UAE and Hungary in various fields. This involves increasing visits, conducting meetings of the Parliamentary Friendship Committee, and exchanging parliamentary information and expertise. The focus is also on enhancing coordination and consultation on issues of mutual interest in both regional and international parliamentary forums.

Both parties acknowledged the contribution of leadership meetings in advancing bilateral relations towards strategic cooperation. Such engagements are seen as essential for supporting joint action and reinforcing momentum in parliamentary relations through institutional communication between the two councils.

The discussions underscored the parliamentary role in supporting bilateral ties and strengthening cooperation in renewable energy, technology, innovation, and education. This cooperation aims to achieve sustainable development and serve the interests of both countries.
