Abu dhabi: UAE national carriers are set to operate additional flights to Manila following new flight entitlements agreed upon by the UAE and the Philippines. The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) of the UAE held Air Services Agreement consultations with the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) of the Philippines, focusing on air transport requirements and strengthening bilateral air connectivity.
According to Emirates News Agency, the consultations led to an agreement granting UAE national carriers additional flight rights to Manila. This development aims to enhance air connectivity, cater to the growing passenger demand, and reflect the robust aviation ties between the two nations. Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, the Director-General of the GCAA, emphasized the cooperation between the UAE and the Philippines in civil aviation, highlighting the commitment to meet passenger needs and support the sustainable growth of the sector.
The UAE and the Philippines have a longstanding civil aviation partnership, further strengthened by the presence of a significant Filipino community in the UAE, which drives the demand for air transport. Both countries continue to enhance collaboration in air services and expand commercial flight operations, contributing to tourism, trade, and people-to-people links, while supporting the growth of their respective civil aviation sectors.
