Abu dhabi: Under the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the United Arab Emirates, through the UAE Aid Agency, has announced a humanitarian response worth $10 million to assist those affected by the earthquake in Colombia, resulting in deaths, injuries, and extensive material damage.

According to Emirates News Agency, the UAE's response is part of its commitment to strengthening international relief efforts and its ongoing humanitarian initiatives to support brotherly and friendly countries during crises and natural disasters. This effort reflects the UAE's dedication to ensuring that aid reaches all affected communities promptly, mitigating disaster consequences and supporting emergency responses during critical times.

Dr. Tareq Ahmed Al Ameri, Chairman of the UAE Aid Agency, stated that UAE teams are working to deliver urgent relief, including medical supplies, food, and shelter, in coordination with relevant authorities in Colombia and international partners. This effort aligns with the actual needs and priorities of the most affected areas.

He emphasized that the UAE Aid Agency is dedicated to accelerating assistance delivery according to ground needs, alleviating suffering, and supporting early recovery and stability restoration in affected regions.

The UAE expressed its solidarity with Colombia after the earthquake, extending condolences and sympathies to victims' families and wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
