UAE Denounces Attack on Embassy in Damascus

Damascus: The United Arab Emirates has issued a strong condemnation of the recent acts of rioting, attempted vandalism, and attacks on its embassy and the residence of the Head of Mission in Damascus, Syria. The UAE has underscored its firm stance against such actions, which it views as unacceptable assaults on its national symbols.

According to Emirates News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) of the UAE highlighted its unwavering rejection of these destructive practices. The ministry emphasized the importance of safeguarding diplomatic premises, missions, and their personnel in line with international laws and norms, specifically citing the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations. This convention ensures the protection and inviolability of diplomatic premises and staff.

The UAE has called upon the Syrian Arab Republic to adhere to its responsibilities in protecting the embassy and its personnel. Furthermore, the UAE urged Syria to investigate the circumstances surrounding the attacks, prevent future incidents, and take legal measures to hold the perpetrators accountable.
