Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Teleworking Applications, affirmed that the UAE government adopts advanced technology as a key pillar in its development journey, reflecting UAE leadership’s directives in leveraging new technology in building capabilities, enhancing services and shaping a brighter future.
This came during the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by Al Olama and Bas Lemmens, General Manager for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa at Chainalysis. The MoU is building cooperation to provide a virtual training programme for government institutions employees in the areas of Blockchain and virtual assets, as well as to develop their capabilities and skills in this future field, leverage global experiences and share success stories.
Al Olama stated that strengthening partnerships with pioneering companies and empowering government entities with the latest tools and advance technologies play a pivotal role in enhancing the readiness of the UAE government, through exchanging experiences and global success stories. Blockchain technology is key to creating innovative solutions for future challenges, which contributes to developing government work and new technologies that enhance the UAE’s leading position globally, he added.
Al Olama further said that the MoU aims to enhance the utilisation of Blockchain technologies in building a smart future for the UAE and achieving the leadership’s vision, adding that the UAE government has already developed an advanced digital infrastructure, which will serve as a stepping stone in accelerating digital transformation and enhancing the UAE’s competitiveness globally.

Under the MoU, Chainalysis will provide a virtual training programme in the blockchain field for government entities’ employees. Participants will learn about Blockchain and virtual assets, economic opportunities and risks in the blockchain sector, virtual assets in the UAE and the Middle East and challenges, the regulatory and political perspective of virtual assets, as well as other topics in detail in the field of Blockchain.
The MoU signed is set to achieve the National Programme for Coders’ objectives, representing an exceptional opportunity for cadres in the government sector to train on Blockchain systems through cooperation with CodersHQ and various platforms to provide an integrated training programme to enhance the benefit and ensure the development of positive work systems in the institutions of the programme participants.
