UAE Marine Sports Federation key to supporting Ministry of Sports’ vision: Mohammed bin Sultan bin Khalifa


Abu dhabi: Sheikh Mohammed bin Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Chairman of the UAE Marine Sports Federation, highlighted the pivotal role of the federation in advancing the Ministry of Sports’ strategic vision for the future of athletics in the UAE.

Sheikh Mohammed’s remarks came during his participation in the “Future of Sports Retreat” held in Dubai, where he described the retreat as “a critical step toward building a sustainable and innovative sports ecosystem in the UAE”.

Sheikh Mohammed emphasised the need for synergy among all sports federations, noting the UAE Marine Sports Federation’s commitment to fostering young talent through initiatives targeting schools and universities.

He underscored the importance of developing programmes that equip emerging athletes with the skills necessary to compete internationally, while also working closely with educational institutions to embed sports culture across all societal levels.

The Chairman of the UAE Marine Sports Federation highlighted the federation’s col
laboration with public and private sectors to implement key programmes to elevate the UAE’s global sports standing.

“The outcomes of the retreat will serve as the foundation for future initiatives focused on youth empowerment, professional development, and promoting an active lifestyle,” Sheikh Mohammed stated.

According to Sheikh Mohammed, the federation’s strategy aligns with the Ministry of Sports’ broader goals to position the UAE as a leader in sports innovation and sustainability, reinforcing the country’s international reputation. “Marine sports, in particular, are not just about individual success; they are a bridge for cultural diplomacy and global cooperation,” he concluded.
