Jakarta: The United Arab Emirates Mission to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) participated in the 3rd meeting between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and ASEAN, which was held in Indonesia's capital, Jakarta. The assembly gathered representatives from member states of both organizations to assess progress under the GCC-ASEAN Framework of Cooperation (2024-2028) and to share perspectives on current priorities and developments.
According to Emirates News Agency, discussions during the meeting focused on the implementation of the Framework of Cooperation. Participants emphasized the necessity of enhancing coordination and fostering practical cooperation between the two regional bodies. The gathering served as a platform for GCC and ASEAN representatives to share insights on emerging regional and global trends and to identify potential areas for enhanced cooperation aimed at promoting shared prosperity, stability, and sustainable development.
The UAE Mission to ASEAN reiterated the UAE's dedication to reinforcing the GCC-ASEAN partnership and advancing cooperation in areas of mutual interest. It underscored the importance of transforming the Framework of Cooperation into tangible initiatives that respond to evolving priorities.
