ABU DHABI: The UAE national domain .ae has reached a significant milestone, boasting 347,000 registrations. This achievement underscores the confidence and demand for the domain from companies, individuals, and businesses within the region.
According to Emirates News Agency, these domains are managed by the UAE’s Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA). The authority is committed to continually upgrading services and incorporating the latest technologies to ensure the domains’ security and effectiveness. The UAE national domain name (.ae) plays a crucial role in enhancing the country’s digital infrastructure. It significantly contributes to reinforcing the UAE’s digital identity and bolstering the digital economy. For business owners, individuals, and companies, the domain represents trust and credibility, validating their operations and enhancing their digital visibility both locally and internationally.
In an effort to enhance user experience, the National Domain Registry in
the UAE has introduced several features, including the “Name Ideas” service. This service utilizes generative artificial intelligence to suggest domain names for potential registrants. Companies and individuals simply provide a brief description of their business activities, and the AI tool generates domain name suggestions that align with their business. Since its introduction in 2023, the service, the first of its kind in the region, has attracted over 10,000 visits. Furthermore, the .ae domain has drawn significant interest from major companies, increasing the number of accredited registrars to 26.
Commenting on these advancements, Mohammed Ibrahim Al Zarooni, Deputy Director General of the Information and Digital Government Sector, emphasized that the continuous efforts and improvements by TDRA make the UAE national domain (.ae) an ideal choice for companies and individuals aiming to enhance their digital presence in a competitive market.
