UAE National Team completes official weigh-in for Jiu-Jitsu World Championship in Greece


HERAKLION: The UAE Jiu-Jitsu National Team (Adults), sponsored by Mubadala Investment Company, has successfully completed the official weigh-in ahead of the Jiu-Jitsu World Championship, organised by the Jiu-Jitsu International Federation in Heraklion, Greece, from 24th to 26th October.

The team consists of elite male and female athletes, all aiming to continue their path of success and reinforce the UAE’s position as a global leader in jiu-jitsu by securing the world title for the fifth successive year.

Fahad Al Shamsi, Secretary General of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, attended the weigh-in and expressed confidence in the team’s performance. He said, ‘The National Team is well-prepared and ready to perform at their best. We are optimistic about their ability to compete at the highest level and add new accomplishments to the UAE’s distinguished jiu-jitsu record.’

Mubarak Al-Menhali, Director of the Technical Department at the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, added: ‘Our athletes have completed over a month of in
tensive training aimed at enhancing the team’s technical and strategic skills. They’ve shown strong abilities and commitment in understanding and executing tactical plans during training, and they are now in peak physical and mental condition, ready to compete and defend the title.’

Muhrah Mahfoudh, competing in the 70 kg category, said: ‘Representing the UAE in the Jiu-Jitsu World Championship is a great honour as well as a huge responsibility. We’ve worked diligently through daily training and intensive camps, and we are ready to achieve new victories. We are grateful for the support we receive from the UAE’s wise leadership, the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, and our technical staff. We will give our all to retain the title.’
