Abu dhabi: The UAE, represented by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, took part in the fourth meeting of the G20 Energy Transition Working Group (ETWG 4) held in South Africa. This participation underscores its commitment to multilateral cooperation and advancing global efforts toward a more sustainable and inclusive energy system.
According to Emirates News Agency, the UAE delegation also participated in a side event focused on creating demand for sustainable fuels, as well as the G20 Nuclear Energy Ministerial Conference. These events were attended by ministers, experts, and policymakers from across the globe. The UAE’s involvement highlights its significant global role as a proactive contributor to shaping international energy policies. This aligns with its strategic vision to balance economic growth with environmental protection while ensuring the security and sustainability of energy resources for both current and future generations.
The UAE’s actions are a practical implementation of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 7, which aims to ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all. The nation continues to lead the global clean energy transition through its updated UAE Energy Strategy 2050 and the National Hydrogen Strategy 2050.
