Abu dhabi: The UAE, represented by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, took part in the fourth meeting of the G20 Energy Transition Working Group (ETWG 4) held in South Africa. This participation underscores its commitment to multilateral cooperation and advancing global efforts toward a more sustainable and inclusive energy system.

According to Emirates News Agency, the UAE delegation also participated in a side event focused on creating demand for sustainable fuels, as well as the G20 Nuclear Energy Ministerial Conference. These events were attended by ministers, experts, and policymakers from across the globe. The UAE’s involvement highlights its significant global role as a proactive contributor to shaping international energy policies. This aligns with its strategic vision to balance economic growth with environmental protection while ensuring the security and sustainability of energy resources for both current and future generations.

The UAE’s actions are a practical implementation of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 7, which aims to ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all. The nation continues to lead the global clean energy transition through its updated UAE Energy Strategy 2050 and the National Hydrogen Strategy 2050. These are bolstered by substantial investments in advanced technologies and renewable energy projects, emphasizing its commitment to achieving climate neutrality by 2050. This also aims to deliver on the outcomes of the historic UAE Consensus, a significant milestone in global climate action.

The UAE’s participation further emphasizes its belief in the significance of dialogue and international partnership to tackle shared challenges, enhance cooperation in sustainable fuels and peaceful nuclear energy, and foster innovation in future energy solutions. Through these initiatives, the UAE aspires to contribute to building a global energy ecosystem that is more efficient, equitable, and sustainable, reflecting its open, collaborative approach and reinforcing its position as a trusted partner in advancing sustainable development worldwide.
