Abu dhabi: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has conferred the First Class Order of Independence upon Maria Camilleri Calleja, the Ambassador of the Republic of Malta to the UAE. This honor marks the end of her tenure and acknowledges her contributions to strengthening bilateral relations between the UAE and Malta in various sectors.
According to Emirates News Agency, the award was presented by Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, during a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting highlighted the UAE's ongoing commitment to enhancing ties with Malta across multiple domains.
Al Hashimy expressed her wishes for Ambassador Calleja's future success and praised her efforts in fostering the relationship between the two nations. Ambassador Calleja, in turn, conveyed her gratitude to President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and appreciated the progress in UAE-Malta relations.
The Maltese Ambassador also thanked UAE entities for their cooperation, which she noted significantly contributed to the success of her diplomatic mission in the UAE.
