Tirana: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan arrived in Tirana on a working visit to the Republic of Albania, where he engaged in talks with Prime Minister His Excellency Edi Rama to explore avenues for enhancing bilateral ties.
According to Emirates News Agency, Prime Minister Rama welcomed Sheikh Mohamed and his delegation at the Prime Minister’s Office, expressing confidence that the visit would foster new cooperation opportunities and advance the development goals of both nations. The discussions focused on strengthening the partnership between the UAE and Albania, with a particular emphasis on economic, trade, renewable energy, food security, and technology sectors.
The two leaders also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest, stressing the importance of dialogue and diplomacy to resolve conflicts. They emphasized the need for stronger international cooperation to promote peace and security globally.
Sheikh Mohamed underscored the UAE’s commitment to building robust partnerships in the Balkans, with Albania being a key partner. He highlighted the UAE’s approach of fostering development-focused relationships based on mutual interests and shared commitments to peace and prosperity.
The meeting concluded with both sides reiterating their determination to advance bilateral ties for the lasting benefit of their nations and citizens. Prime Minister Rama awarded Sheikh Mohamed the ‘Benemerenti’ medal, recognizing his pivotal role in strengthening UAE-Albania relations. The award signifies the deep respect and appreciation Sheikh Mohamed enjoys in Albania.
The meeting was attended by members of the official UAE delegation, including key ministers and advisers, who accompanied Sheikh Mohamed on this significant visit. Upon his arrival in Tirana earlier in the day, Sheikh Mohamed was welcomed at Tirana International Airport by Prime Minister Rama and senior officials.
