Abu dhabi: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Serbian President His Excellency Aleksandar Vucic engaged in discussions on enhancing bilateral cooperation in the areas of economy, investment, trade, and renewable energy, as well as other priority sectors under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and Comprehensive Economic Partnership between the UAE and Serbia. This dialogue occurred during Sheikh Mohamed's working visit to Serbia.
According to Emirates News Agency, the two leaders emphasized their mutual commitment to strengthening UAE-Serbia relations and expanding partnerships that promote growth and prosperity for both nations and their citizens. Sheikh Mohamed praised President Vucic for his dedication to fostering the strong ties between their countries.
Sheikh Mohamed announced that scholarships would be available for Serbian students to study at UAE universities. These scholarships will cover various disciplines, with an emphasis on science, technology, and artificial intelligence, showcasing Sheikh Mohamed's commitment to enhancing academic cooperation and educational partnerships between the UAE and Serbia.
President Vucic expressed gratitude for the initiative, viewing it as a testament to the robust relationship between Serbia and the UAE. The leaders also shared perspectives on several regional and international issues of common interest.
The meeting was attended by the delegation accompanying Sheikh Mohamed, including His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President; alongside other ministers and senior officials.
Earlier in his visit, Sheikh Mohamed toured the EXPO 2027 Playground in Belgrade, an interactive multimedia center for Expo 2027, which Serbia is set to host next year. He received a presentation on the preparations for the global event and extended his well wishes to Serbia for a successful exhibition.
The visit concluded with group photographs of Sheikh Mohamed with the Expo team.
