UAE Shares Its Urban Development Model at World Urban Forum in Cairo.


Cairo: On behalf of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, participated in the 12th edition of the World Urban Forum (WUF) held in Cairo, Egypt. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak led the UAE delegation at the forum, which was held under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi of the Arab Republic of Egypt, with prominent regional and international participation. Held from 4th to 8th November, the forum aims to enhance international cooperation in sustainable development for the benefit of governments and peoples worldwide.

According to Emirates News Agency, Sheikh Nahyan stated that the UAE’s participation in this international event came under the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and as part of the UAE’s significant international presence at regional and Arab levels. He emphasised that the UAE’s participation is intended to share the Emirati experience, learn from global
practices, and strengthen international cooperation in the field of sustainable development. He said the forum addressed finding sustainable solutions to the global housing crisis, which remains one of the most pressing issues facing the world today.

Additionally, Sheikh Nahyan conveyed the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to the Egyptian leadership and his best wishes for the success of the forum in achieving its noble goals for the benefit of humanity. He affirmed the deep relations between the two countries, which serve the interests of both brotherly nations. He also mentioned that the Egyptian leadership expressed gratitude and appreciation to the UAE leadership for its active participation in all the forum’s activities.

He pointed out that the UAE’s participation in this global forum was highly productive, as it provided an opportunity for a series of meetings with global leaders and figures on the sidelines of the forum. These meetings enabled the exchange of ideas and exp
eriences, as well as discussions on ways to collaborate on sustainable urban development, addressing global urbanisation challenges, and building partnerships to tackle global challenges such as climate change, conflicts, and poverty.
