UAE’s Ongoing Support for Gaza’s Healthcare Under Operation Chivalrous Knight 3

Rafah:The UAE is actively supporting Gaza's healthcare sector through Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, which aims to provide crucial medical aid and services. This initiative involves supplying hospitals across the Gaza Strip with essential medicines, medical equipment, and supplies, as well as operating medical evacuation and rehabilitation programs.

According to Emirates News Agency, the UAE field hospital in Rafah has treated over 54,000 patients since the operation's launch on November 5, 2023. The operation has responded to the increasing medical needs in Gaza, where many hospitals are damaged or out of service.

In collaboration with the World Health Organisation (WHO), the UAE has dispatched medical aid convoys through the Rafah crossing, delivering 1,903 tonnes of essential medical supplies to Gaza's hospitals. Two medical centers have been established in southern and northern Gaza, serving around 4,000 patients monthly, and a mobile clinic has been deployed to assist displaced individuals in their temporary accommodations.

In Al Arish, Egypt, the UAE has set up a floating hospital that has treated over 35,000 Palestinian patients. The operation has also facilitated the evacuation of approximately 3,000 patients to UAE hospitals, helping to alleviate the strain on Gaza's healthcare facilities.

Efforts to combat polio have seen the provision of more than 600,000 vaccine doses, and emergency services have been enhanced with the delivery of 27 fully equipped ambulances to the region. Additionally, the UAE has undertaken projects to provide 10,000 pairs of prescription glasses and manufacture prosthetic limbs for about 203 amputees, supporting their mobility and daily activities.

This comprehensive initiative underscores the UAE's commitment to medical support for the Palestinian people, focusing on emergency response, treatment, prevention, and rehabilitation.
