BRUSSELS: Omar Al Marzouqi, the UAE’s equestrian show jumper, added a new feather in the UAE’s endurance cap by winning the World Show Jumping Championship for Stallions as part of the World Championship for 5-, 6- and 7-year-old showjumpers in Lanaken, Belgium.
Ridding Enjoy de la Mure, owned by Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the 21-year-old UAE rider finished the first and second legs on Thursday and Friday respectively, outperforming world’s top show jumpers.
The event, which got off on 18th September, will conclude on Sunday by crowning the winners in various categories and ages.
Al Marzouqi expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, for his support to equestrian sports in the UAE, and to H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi, for his interest in show jumping riders in the competition for titles.
