UNRWA Urges Immediate Lifting of Aid Blockade in Gaza

Gaza: The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has called for the immediate lifting of all restrictions on the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, underscoring that children in the territory continue to endure dire conditions under the constraints imposed by the Israeli occupation forces.

According to Qatar News Agency, children in Gaza should feel warmth, adequate nutrition, and sufficient safety to envision their future, UNRWA said in a statement Saturday, stressing their urgent need for humanitarian assistance currently piling up outside the Strip.

UNRWA further stated that, in line with other relief organizations, it continues its operations in the Gaza enclave and stands ready to expand the scope of its assistance.

Since the start of the Israeli onslaught on the Gaza Strip on Oct. 7, 2023, which claimed the lives of over 71,000 and wounded 171,000 individuals, the enclave continues to face a tightened blockade and restrictions imposed by the Israeli occupation army.

The Israeli measures block the influx of life-saving aid, despite the signing of a ceasefire deal that came into effect on Oct. 10.
