WEQAA Clears Over One Million Heads of Livestock to Enter Makkah

Mina: The Saudi National Center for the Prevention and Control of Plant Pests and Animal Diseases (WEQAA) has revealed that the total number of livestock cleared to enter Makkah through the entry points of the epidemiological disease control teams amounted to more than one million since the beginning of the Hajj season.

The center explained that it plays important roles in protecting public health by ensuring the health and safety of livestock arriving in the Holy Capital according to a series of preventive measures carried out by epidemiological disease control teams working in seven entry points leading to Makkah.

WEQAA added that its teams have intensified their efforts since the beginning of the Hajj season, with the number of livestock cleared to enter Makkah after ensuring that they are free of animal diseases reaching over one million and the number of investigation and control rounds for disease vectors reached 2,757 rounds.
