WGS has become key platform showcasing future plans of world governments: Egyptian Ambassador

Sherif Mohammed Fouad Al Bedewi, Egyptian Ambassador to the UAE, said that the World Government Summit 2022 (WGS2022) has become a key platform showcasing the future plans of world governments, through forward-looking visions, ideas and studies, with the participation of senior government officials, experts, private sector leaders and innovators.

He made this statement during his participation in WGS2022. Al Bedewi said that the summit acquires greater importance each year, especially as it forecasts the future of economic and digital transformation, climate change and energy security.

Moreover, the Egyptian Ambassador noted the UAE and Egypt are coordinating the organisation of the 2022 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27), to be held in Egypt in November 2022, and the preparations for COP28, which will be hosted by the UAE in November 2023.

He also highlighted Egypt’s participation in the Middle East and North Africa Climate Week (MENACW) 2022, which is currently being held in Dubai.
