Cairo: Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi announced that work is ongoing to drill new wells in the Zohr gas field. This statement was made during the general assemblies of Petrobel and Petro Shorouk, which convened to approve the results for the fiscal year 2024/2025. It was revealed that the Zohr gas field has successfully increased its output by 65 million cubic feet per day, following the commencement of production from the Zohr-6 well.
According to Emirates News Agency, the meetings also delved into plans to expand oil and gas exploration into deeper layers, supported by advanced seismic studies. Petro Shorouk reported an investment of $569 million during the fiscal year and highlighted the Zohr-6 well as a significant milestone. Additionally, preparations are underway for work on the Zohr-9 well, alongside the drilling of two new development wells within the current fiscal year.
