\nThe Jordanian Media Credibility Observatory (Akeed) recorded 64 rumors last August, propagated on local or foreign media outlets and social platforms.<\/p>\n
In its monthly report on Sunday, Akeed said a total of 16 fake items were dismissed out of 64, recording an increase of 2 cases, compared 14 rumors that were denied last July.<\/p>\n
Akeed added that a total of 18 political rumors ranked 1st at 28%, followed by security field in the 2nd place with 17 rumors at 26.5%, while 12 social misinformation cases racked up the third slot at 19%, a third of which dealt with educational issues related to the start of the new school year and the announcement of Tawjihi results.<\/p>\n
Additionally, economic rumors came in the 4th place, recording 8% cases at 12.5%, while public affairs items came in the 5th place, and the health sector garnered the 6th and last ranking, recording 3 rumors at 5%, Akeed pointed out.<\/p>\n
Akeed said 52 rumors emerged on social platforms at 81%, while 12 fake items surfaced in traditional media outlets at 19% \n.<\/p>\n
