Dubai:Members of the World Economic Forum's Young Global Leaders community gathered in Dubai for a dedicated day of programming at the Annual Meeting of Global Future Leaders 2026. Organized by the UAE Government, WEF, and the Dubai Future Foundation, the event aims to shape WEF's agenda, including its Annual Meeting in Davos.
According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting, which will run until Thursday, 15 October, attracts more than 700 leaders and experts from 90 countries. This includes 20 ministers, 300 Young Global Leaders, and 150 UAE government leaders, all collaborating to transform shared visions into initiatives that drive development and prosperity.
Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Chairperson of several organizations, and Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and the Future and Co-Chair of the event, were among the attendees. The day featured 'Meet the Leader' discussions focusing on inclusion, youth development, and belonging, as well as workshops, orientation sessions, and a welcome session for the Global Shapers Community.
Participants engaged directly with global leaders, exchanging ideas across sectors and generations. This interaction aims to spot early signals of change and address new questions about growth, human capabilities, technology, sustainability, and resilience, thereby enhancing the connection between foresight and decision-making.
The event's agenda includes more than 60 sessions and interactive discussions, with Opportunity Labs and specialized experiences across six themes artificial intelligence, technology and human agency; science, discovery, and innovation; economic growth; geopolitics, security, and trade; leadership and human flourishing; and climate and nature.
