Abu dhabi: Lucid Group, Inc. has set a new Guinness World Records title for the longest journey by an electric car on a single charge last weekend. Covering a range of 1,205 kilometres without charging, the Lucid Air Grand Touring1 conducted its record-breaking journey between St. Moritz, Switzerland and Munich, Germany, including alpine roads, highways, and secondary roads. According to Emirates News Agency, Lucid exceeded the previous record for the longest journey of 1,045 kilometres set in June 2025 by 160 kilometres. Lucid is a Silicon Valley-based technology company focused on creating the most advanced EVs in the world.

Beijing: China reported a surge in mineral discoveries in the first half of 2025, identifying 38 new deposits, which marks an increase of 31 percent compared to the previous year. Among these, 25 deposits were classified as large or medium-sized, the Ministry of Natural Resources announced. Kuwait city: The price of Kuwaiti oil increased by $1.31 per barrel to reach $72.39 on Wednesday, compared to $71.08 on Tuesday, as reported by the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation on Thursday. According to Emirates News Agency, in global markets, Brent Crude saw a marginal rise of 4 cents, reaching $70.19 per barrel. Similarly, West Texas Intermediate experienced an increase of 5 cents, bringing its price to $68.38 per barrel, as reported by the Kuwait News Agency.

Abu dhabi: The World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) has revealed that sand and dust storms are affecting 330 million people across more than 150 countries, posing significant threats to public health and the global economy. According to Emirates News Agency, the annual WMO Airborne Dust Bulletin underscores the urgency of enhancing monitoring, forecasting, and early warning systems to mitigate these effects. The Bulletin notes that while the global average of annual mean dust surface concentrations in 2024 was marginally less than in 2023, regional disparities were stark. In severely impacted areas, 2024 surface dust levels surpassed the long-term average from 1981-2010.
