5.2 Million Travelers Expected at Dubai International Airport During Winter Holiday Season

DUBAI: Dubai International Airport (DXB) is preparing for a substantial influx of travelers as the winter holiday season approaches, with an estimated 5.2 million guests expected to pass through its terminals between December 13 and December 31. According to Emirates News Agency, the daily average number of passengers is anticipated to reach 274,000, with Friday, December 20, projected to be the busiest day, accommodating nearly 296,000 guests. The weekend spanning December 20 to 22 is also expected to witness peak activity, with around 880,000 travelers passing through the airport. Essa Al Shamsi, Senior Vice President of Terminal Operations at Dubai Airports, stated, "Delivering the exceptional experience that DXB is known for during peak travel periods is always a challenge, but one we are well-prepared to meet with collaboration across the oneDXB family." Al Shamsi highlighted the festive activations planned to enhance the travel experience, including transforming the Family Zone at Terminal 3 into a wi nter wonderland. This area will feature unique performances by carollers and beatboxers, a Magic Station offering gift-wrapping and photo opportunities, and a Nutcracker marching band, among other attractions. The surge in traffic underscores Dubai's appeal as a global destination, attracting visitors with its vibrant shopping, dining, and entertainment options, as well as its favorable winter weather. Of the expected travelers, 1.7 million are projected to arrive in Dubai, while 1.5 million are set to depart, emphasizing the city's growing stature as a top choice for international tourists.
