Ajman Municipality Wins Four Prestigious Stevie Awards for 2026

Ajman: Ajman Municipality and Planning Department has secured four prestigious accolades at the 2026 Middle East and North Africa Stevie Awards, recognized for its pioneering work in government innovation, sustainability, circular economy, and smart-city development.

According to Emirates News Agency, the Department received awards for Innovative Management in Government - Organisations with 100 or More Employees, Most Innovative Circular Economy Practices, and Most Innovative Urban Sustainability and Smart City Transformation. Dr. Eng. Khaled Moeen Al Hosani, Executive Director of the Public Health and Environment Sector, accepted the awards on behalf of the Department. He highlighted that the awards are a testament to the Department's commitment to data-driven, knowledge-based, and innovative approaches with a focus on tangible outcomes.

Dr. Al Hosani emphasized the Department's plans to further integrate scientific research into policymaking, promote circular-economy practices and smart environmental systems, and enhance the use of data and artificial intelligence in decision-making processes. The Department's accomplishments include the development of over 30 strategic environmental and public-health projects, which have contributed to the complete reuse of treated wastewater and an expansion of green areas by approximately 2.3 million square meters.

Additionally, the Department was recognized in the Innovation in Government Services category for its "Smart Maps in Investment" project. This initiative leverages digital technologies and geospatial data to improve access to investment opportunities and enhance government services.
