Liwa: 'Al Habeeb' emerged victorious in the first race of the Purebred Arabian Horse Race organized by Liwa Sports Club on Thursday, showcasing a strong field of elite owners and riders committed to preserving purebred horse racing in the Al Dhafra region.
According to Emirates News Agency, in the initial race taking place over a distance of 1,700 metres, "Al Habeeb," owned by Ali Suhail Ali Al Mazrouei, secured the top spot. The runner-up was 'Safeer,' owned by Ahmed Mohammed Fan Al Muhairbi, while 'Sand,' owned by Saif A'shair Ali Al Mazrouei, claimed the third position.
In the subsequent race, which spanned 1,400 metres, "Maktoob," also owned by Ali Suhail Ali Al Mazrouei, clinched victory. "Janjal," owned by Saif A'shair Al Mazrouei, finished in second place, followed by "Meeqat," owned by Fan Mohammed Fan, in third.
Liwa Sports Club stated that this event is part of a broader series of sports activities aimed at promoting Purebred Arabian horse racing and preserving the region's rich equestrian heritage.
