Arada Awards AED145 Million Contract for Sports Complex at Sharjah’s Aljada Megaproject

Sharjah: Arada has announced the awarding of a contract valued at AED145 million to develop a landscaped sports complex within the expansive AED35 billion Aljada megaproject in Sharjah. This development is expected to significantly enhance the recreational offerings within the Aljada community.

According to Emirates News Agency, the sports complex will be set over a 400,000 square foot landscaped park and will feature a variety of facilities. These include a full-size football pitch, several 5-a-side football pitches, and courts for basketball, padel tennis, volleyball, squash, and badminton. Additionally, the complex will have cycling and jogging tracks, adventure play areas for children, and a water play area. Visitors will also have access to two food and beverage outlets, including the Reformatory Lab, an Australian coffee brand recently introduced to the UAE.

The contract for this ambitious project has been awarded to Dubai-based Civic Builders Trading and Contracting LLC. Construction has already commenced, with the handover of the complex scheduled by the end of 2026. The design includes two floors of parking beneath the complex, ensuring convenient access for sports and fitness enthusiasts, as well as accommodating the growing number of visitors to Aljada.

Ahmed Alkhoshaibi, Group CEO of Arada, emphasized the importance of the project, stating, "The delivery of this world-class sports complex is in line with our goal to enable an active, healthy lifestyle for residents and visitors to Aljada. It's also another addition to the world-class amenities we continue to build across the community, which consistently enhance quality of life and increase long-term value for our homeowners."

Aljada is a transformational destination in Sharjah, spanning 24 million square feet and comprising 25,000 homes. The megaproject includes various residential districts and extensive retail, hospitality, entertainment, sporting, educational, and healthcare components, all integrated within a green urban master plan.
