Bahrain’s Legislative Leaders Condemn Drone Attack on UAE’s Barakah Plant

Abu dhabi: Bahrain's Council of Representatives and Shura Council have condemned the targeting of the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant, affirming their solidarity with the UAE.

According to Emirates News Agency, Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), received two cables of solidarity from Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, and Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Bahraini leaders expressed strong condemnation of the terrorist drone attack aimed at the vicinity of the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant in the Al Dhafra Region.

The officials stated that the attack represents a violation of international law and conventions that protect civilian and vital facilities. They highlighted the breach of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817 and stressed their councils' unwavering support for the UAE in addressing threats to its security and stability.

The Bahraini leaders commended the effective response of Abu Dhabi's competent authorities and air defense systems, noting that no injuries or impact on radiation safety levels were reported. They emphasized the UAE's capability to safeguard its national assets and security.

The cables underscored the UAE's right to take necessary actions to preserve its sovereignty and protect its citizens and residents, in line with international laws. Additionally, they lauded the historical and fraternal relations between the UAE and Bahrain, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, as a model of solidarity.
