Dubai: Roman Shimanskiy, Chief Executive of Yango Play, emphasized a significant transition in the digital entertainment industry, moving towards integrated ‘all-in-one’ experiences that consolidate various content types under a single subscription model.
According to Emirates News Agency, Shimanskiy spoke on the sidelines of the BRIDGE Summit, highlighting that Yango Play was designed to merge movies, series, music, and mini-games into one application. This approach addresses the diminishing traditional boundaries between content categories, as seen with music videos and movie soundtracks that blur the lines between video and music streaming.
Shimanskiy emphasized the importance of recommendation features in guiding users who may not have a fixed entertainment choice, underscoring the role of these capabilities in the evolving consumption habits. He also identified the UAE as a key market for Yango Group, which is expanding services like Yango Maps and Yango Taxi in the region, with Yango Play as its entertainment offering.
The ecosystem introduced in the UAE aims to provide Yango Play subscribers not only with access to content but also benefits across multiple Yango applications, facilitating seamless transitions between services. Shimanskiy also highlighted the platform’s support for locally produced content and its contribution through original productions in the UAE.
Addressing the role of artificial intelligence in content creation, Shimanskiy shared insights from the summit, particularly inspired by Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications. He noted the rapid advancements in AI, making content production increasingly efficient and cost-effective.
