Emirates Health Services Board Evaluates Transformational Project Progress in Dubai.


Dubai: The Board of Directors of Emirates Health Services (EHS) convened for its sixth meeting of 2024 in Dubai to discuss a range of strategic topics, including institutional performance for Q3, progress on transformational projects, and updates on their implementation. These initiatives aim to enhance healthcare services across preventive, therapeutic, and rehabilitative levels, ultimately enhancing the quality of life for individuals in line with global best practices.

According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting, chaired by Dr. Mohammad Salim Al Olama, Chairman of the Board, was attended by board members and Dr. Yousif Mohammed Al Serkal, Director-General of EHS. Various other projects and key issues were discussed during the meeting. Dr. Al Olama reaffirmed EHS’s dedication to being a pioneering government entity in implementing transformational projects since their nationwide inception. This commitment aims to fundamentally improve healthcare delivery through cutting-edge technological advancements,
adhering to the highest standards of modern medical services, and enhancing the UAE’s standing on the global health stage.

He highlighted that EHS’s strategy aligns with the directives of the UAE’s wise leadership and national strategies that focus on enhancing government services and embedding digital transformation in healthcare. This involves adopting global best practices and leveraging the latest advancements in medical technology. During the meeting, Dr. Al Olama reiterated EHS’ determination to make strategic decisions that bolster the performance of all units, health facilities, and service delivery channels. He highlighted the ongoing efforts to enhance quality, efficiency, and excellence in healthcare, aiming to provide the community with sustainable health practices that contribute to the “We the UAE 2031” vision. He commended the board members for their crucial roles in supporting EHS’s strategic objectives.

In his remarks, Dr. Yousif Mohammed Al Serkal stated that the meeting’s focus was to eva
luate the implementation outcomes of transformational projects as per established plans and timelines. This aligns with EHS’s vision to become a global leader in delivering high-quality health services and improving individual quality of life through proactive, integrated healthcare based on the latest advancements in medical technology and a professional workforce. Dr. Al Serkal highlighted the importance of the major transformational projects launched in the second cycle (2023-2024) in achieving the goals of UAE Vision 2031. He discussed the significant outcomes of these initiatives as well as the third-quarter performance results, underlining the necessity of applying successful experiences, adopting best practices, and fostering collaborative efforts to enhance health and medical care through continual innovation and improvement.

He also noted the importance of adapting to global changes and emerging health challenges, emphasising the need for readiness and resilience to ensure the sustainability and qua
lity of health services. This strategic approach aims to elevate the overall healthcare landscape in the UAE, fulfilling both short-term and long-term national goals. Additionally, board members reviewed recommendations from the Audit and Risk Committee and the Development and Improvement Committee, assessed EHS’s financial performance, and addressed outcomes from the previous meeting. They discussed key performance results, challenges, and developmental progress across various strategic and operational levels, leading to recommendations and decisions to further enhance health services in the country.
