Dubai: The Ministry of Economy and Tourism, in collaboration with the New Economy Academy and Ignyte, has announced the launch of the Entrepreneurship Programme aimed at equipping 10,000 Emiratis with essential entrepreneurship skills. This initiative is part of the national campaign, 'The Emirates: The Startup Capital of the World,' launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to enhance the UAE's status as a leading global hub for entrepreneurship.
According to Emirates News Agency, the programme was unveiled at a press conference in Dubai, attended by key figures including Abdulla Ahmed Al Saleh, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Economy and Tourism; Arif Amiri, CEO of Dubai International Financial Centre Authority; and Dr. Laila Faridoon, CEO of the New Economy Academy. The initiative includes a three-day 'Essentials of Entrepreneurship' programme and a six-day 'Complete Entrepreneurship' masterclass, focusing on both fundamentals and advanced entrepreneurship skills.
Participants will gain the ability to launch impactful projects with global competitiveness, contributing to the UAE's non-oil GDP and supporting the nation's goal of fostering a knowledge-based economy. Abdulla Ahmed Al Saleh emphasized the UAE leadership's vision of establishing the country as a global center for entrepreneurship and innovation, highlighting the strategic importance of training Emiratis in entrepreneurial skills to boost economic development.
Arif Amiri pointed out that the Entrepreneurship Programme provides a valuable opportunity for Emirati youth to gain practical skills and knowledge, reinforcing the UAE's status as a global entrepreneurship and innovation hub. He noted the significance of the Ignyte platform in attracting participants and aligning with the Dubai Economic Agenda's objectives.
Dr. Laila Faridoon expressed the programme's goal to furnish Emirati youth with essential tools and skills for transforming their ideas into viable projects, thereby solidifying the UAE's appeal to entrepreneurs and investors worldwide. Graduates will receive a certificate from the New Economy Academy, validating their acquired skills.
The 'Essentials of Entrepreneurship' programme will be conducted both remotely and in-person, focusing on business model development, marketing skills, and financial planning. Meanwhile, the 'Complete Entrepreneurship' masterclass offers a comprehensive six-day training experience, combining theoretical knowledge with practical application to guide participants through the entire business lifecycle.
This ambitious programme is designed to empower aspiring entrepreneurs with the necessary expertise to build scalable ventures, ultimately supporting the UAE's economic diversification and development goals.
